In my experience, there is a distinct improvement in drying times when using a two inch wand. I don’t think very many would challenge that. I’ve never tried using 2” hose coupled to an 1.5” wand, so I don’t know if it is an improvement or not. Back in the 90’s, the improvement was HUGE and worth the drawbacks because my old, underperforming TM’s were so inefficient; however, that’s not the case anymore. The difference today is no longer worth the physical punishment and property risks associated with using 2” hose. I’d be willing to speculate that a lifetime of using 2” hose and wands will take 10 years off of your cleaning career. If I could go back and begin my career over, I’d have sliders, lift buddy’s and a 1.5 chosen wand with a hole glide from the beginning.
I use to put a regular 1 1/2 hose cuff on my tool and put the 2 inch over it.

There's a difference in vacuum, adding more restriction like a whip hose you lose some air flow.

Not sure if it matters when you use fans or not.

You guys are something. I was crushing it with my weak portable for 18 months before I got my truckmount. Now I use a 25' whip hose to my 1.5" wand and I get great dry times. Set the customers expectations with dry times ranging from 4 to 8 hours, and they are happy, and so am I. I can only imagine how tough it is with a 2" vac hose going right to a wand... for what?

Being doing a 2” vac hose right to the wand for over 15 years

For both my 2”wand and 1.5”.

Have you ever experimented and compared the dry times with both setups at your house?

Run at 10 ft whip hose for a dozen projects and they'll never go back unless you micro obsess on the difference between 1 hour and 2-hour dry times which I guarantee your customers are not.
